RULES AND REGULATIONS
- 1. HOW TO ENTER:
Anyone over the age of
19 can listen to 102.1 SPUD FM, Magic 93, 95.1 CFCY, Hot 105.5, and Ocean 100.3
radio stations to find out which Summerside locations the Fisherman will be
attending to give out keys. The potential entrant then has to approach the
fisherman and ask for a key. After the key is given, take it to Red Shores at
Summerside, where a minimum purchase of $5 is required to try their key in the Follow the Fisherman treasure chest.
A minimum purchase of $5 is required at Red
Shores at Summerside Raceway to qualify to enter the contest. Red Shores at
Summerside will place a sticker on the key to ensure minimum purchase is met,
once the sticker is on the contestant is able to try their key in the chest.
If a customer has more
than one key to try in the chest at one time then only a minimum purchase of $5
is required and Red Shores at Summerside will place a sticker on all keys and allow
all keys to be tried for that visit. Maximum 6 keys per person per day during the
promotion can be entered at Red Shores Summerside.
- 2. CONTEST DATES
Contest begins Thursday,
July 5th, 2012. All keys must be submitted by 5:00 PM AST on Friday,
July 13th, 2012 to Red Shores at Summerside Raceway.
3. DRAWS AND PRIZES
50 keys will be randomly
cut to fit the lock on the treasure chest. The first nine (9) individuals with
keys that unlock the chest will be entered for a chance to participate in the
grand prize event on Saturday July 14, 2012. Keys can be tried until Friday,
July 13th at 5:00 p.m.
On Saturday, July 14th,
qualifiers, or their designate, must attend the Governor’s Plate race at Red
Shores at Summerside Raceway where one of the nine will have a chance to win
the $2,000.00 Grand Prize.
Each of the 9
qualifiers, or a representative of a qualifier, will have a horse randomly
selected for them by drawing a number from a drum. The number will represent
the post position of the horse. The horse selection will be witnessed by a
Lobster Carnival representative.
The qualifier whose
horse is first to cross the finish line will win $2,000, the winner whose horse
finishes second will win $500 and the winner whose horse finishes third wins 50
pounds of lobster. If there is a tie between any of the horses, there will be a
draw to decide the placement of the winners.
The odds of winning the $2,000 Grand Prize depends on the number of
entries received for the contest and the placement of the horses at the
Governor’s Plate. Runners up will each receive 10 lbs. of lobster from the
Lobster Carnival Committee.
Lobster Carnival reserves the right to award the prize to an alternate
winner. An entrant may only be selected as a potential winner once. Proof of
identification must be provided upon request.
Winners or proxy (Lobster
Carnival representative) must be present at the race to win.
To enter and to be
eligible to win, entrants must be 19 years of age or older. AL and Lobster
Carnival Committee employees and members are ineligible to enter. Participants
must have a government issued photo ID to be eligible to receive a cash prize.
All prizes must be
accepted as awarded. A prize may not be sold or transferred.
Before being awarded a
prize, potential winners must first correctly answer a mathematical skill
testing question. The potential winner will be required to sign a statement of
compliance with these official rules and regulations for a full release and
indemnity form that states that he/she has read and understood these official
rules and regulations, grants all consents required, authorizes Lobster
Carnival to broadcast, public, and disseminate his/her name, address,
photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, in connection with any promotion or
publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and information purposes at
no additional compensation to the potential winner, beyond the awarding of our
participation in the Prize, accepts the Prize as offered and releases Lobster
Carnival from any kind or arising out of the potential winners participation in
this contest and receipt of use of the Prize. In the event that a qualified winner
is unable to physically attend the event, a proxy will be made available.
In the event that the potential winner does not comply with all the
provisions as contemplated in these official rules and regulations, Lobster
Carnival shall have the right to disqualify the potential winner and draw an
alternate potential winner and Lobster Carnival shall be fully and completely
released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.
The provisions and procedures referred to above relating to selection and
notification of a potential winner shall be applied, with the necessary amendments,
until a qualified winner has been duly selected.
By entering this contest the entrants
and participants automatically agree to accept and abide by these official
rules and regulations. All decisions of Lobster Carnival with respect to any
aspect of this contest, including without limitation the eligibility of
entries, are final and binding on all entrants in all matters as they relate to
this contest.
All entries become the property of Lobster
Carnival who assumes no responsibility for garbled, illegible, lost, late,
delayed, destroyed or misdirected mail, voice messages, e-mail or any computer
errors or malfunctions. No contest entries will be entered into except with
entries selected as potential winners. Lobster Carnival do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of
entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or
printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission,
interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or
network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials/data that have been tampered
with or altered are void. If for any
reason, in the opinion of Lobster Carnival, in its/their sole discretion, the
contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the
administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the
contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by
computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical
failures or any other causes beyond its/their control, Lobster Carnival
reserves their right to cancel, terminate, modify, amend or suspend the contest
including canceling any method of entry, and select a winner from previously
received eligible entries. Lobster Carnival reserves their right to modify the
official rules and regulations of this contest without materially affecting the
terms and conditions hereof. Lobster Carnival reserves their right in their
sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the
entry process or the operation of the contest or to be acting in violation of
these official rules and regulations or otherwise in a disruptive manner.
This contest is subject to all applicable
federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. By entering this contest, each entrant consents to
the collection, use and distribution of his/her personal information
(information that identifies an entrant as an individual, such as home
telephone number, age and home address) by Lobster Carnival for the purposes of
implementing, administering and fulfilling this contest. Lobster Carnival will
not sell or transmit this information to third parties except for the purposes
of administering this contest. Lobster Carnival
is committed to ensuring the privacy of its players and taking all of the
necessary precautions to ensure player information is safeguarded. In all
cases, information is retained in secure facilities and protected from
unauthorized access. Lobster Carnival will only use or disclose entrants
information for the specific purposes for which it was collected, unless
required by law, and will only retain the information long enough to fulfill
these purposes, after which time it will be securely destroyed.
No purchase necessary – If an
entrant does not wish to receive a ballot by one of the methods listed above
they may request a ballot at Red Shores in Summerside to enter the prize draws.
They must complete the ballot with their signature, phone number and then
include a reasonable, hand-drawn facsimile of the Follow the Fisherman logo on
the reverse side of the ballot. One
ballot per person per day can be obtained through this method.
